Ministry of Labour and Employment Suggestion for amendment of the payment of wages Act 1936, to raise the wage limit from Rs. 400/-p.m to Rs 500/-p.m. The Labour Ministry were informed that the Minister of Railway had no objection to increase to present limit of coverage under the payment of Wages Act from Rs 400/-p.m to Rs500/-p.m provided they agree to grant exemption to the Gazetted staff concerned on Railways from the scope of the Act on a permanent basis
