In reply to his letter of the 4th instt. stasting that his memorial bearing date May 1851 was read in this Dept on te 2nd August last, with a despatch from th Adjt. General of th Army, no. 696 of the 15th July 1851, and was forwarded to the Honble the court of Director with a letter from the Govt. of india dated 18th August.
