With reference to military dept;letter no;588 of the 25th august last:prescribing the clothing to be in future issue to the european non comanding and department submits copy of one from the adjt:general of themadras army stating the description of clothing hitherto supplied to those ranks at the prssidency expressing the C. in chief opinion that the extensivechanges are higly undesrable & his excellency recomndation that the dept:of the staff serjeants in questions may be allowed.
