In continuatin of his letter, no. 100, of 14th Instt., transmits for publication, a General order directing that, hereafter, no officer shall be appointed to the situation of Adjutant of any Regiment of Cavalry or Infantry, or of the Corps of Sappers & Miners on Pioneers, until he shall have passed the examination in Hindoostanee laid down in G.O.G.G., 31st May 1844.
