With reference to their Despatch no. 50 of the 25th Dec. 1848 transmitting Extract (Para 6) of a Mily. Letter from the Honble the Court of Directors to the Gavernor of the Presidency of Fort William in Bengal no. 50, Date 13th June 1849 Stating with reference to the Damaged condition of certain Barometers received per ship Wellesley, that the greatest care is taken in Packing Barometers under the Immediate care of the maker & observing that the supply of Spare Tubes will render them useless as Standard Scientific Instruments for Meteorological Observation which they are Intended to be.
