Intimating in reply to his despatch , no 457 D/2nd Instt. that appointment of the six Pay Havildars and the same number of sweeper for the late 1st Infantry Recruits Depot not having been authorized the Honable the Presidency in Coucil is of Opinion that the mily auditor General could not with proprety have done otherwise than reject the claim of major Hongthon on their accounts but in considerations of the strength of the Depot and of the opinion of the C.in C that pay havildars ,and sweepers are indispenseable in a newly frarmed Recruitings Depot His Honor in Coucil is pleased to sanction the admission of the charges in question as recommended by Hes Excellency.
