With reference to a Letter of the 30th June last submit the Servey reports on the overalls tendered for issue to Troops of the 1st Battalion Horse Artillery submit also a Supplimentary Indent on the Court for Woollens for overalls in liew leather treches for the En Horse Arty. & Staff Serjeants of Native Cavelry together with copy Lr. from the army Clothing agent 2nd Division & a Master of Cloth received from the Quater Master of H. Majesty's 3rd Liight Dragoons the price of which is Stated to be 6 Rs. per yard whilet that of the Oxford Mixture is Rs. 2.8.9. Submit that the overalls Condemned on account of the quality of the cloth be issued to the Men as no better can at present be supplied & that in addition for the Biennial period Compensation for one year be granted at the rate of Rs. 5.8.3 until a better description of cloth can be received from England solicit attention to the 2nd Para of a Lr. from this Dept. of the 1st November 1844.
