In reply to his desp. no 224 of the 11th March last intimating tht the P in C negatives the requests of the officer Comg. the 7th irregr. Cavy requesting that offr. may be directed to indent for percussion caps which wil be supplied by the state ceasing to draw match allowance from the date of their receipt with his regt. and referrring him to Secy Col. Stuarts letter no 245 of the 25 th Septr. 1847 to the address of his predecessor as the principle of the decision contained in the 5th para of its enclisure is appplicable to the present and similar cases.
