Submits for special consideration a Bill drawn by Major Smith, Commanding the 1st Irrigular Cavalry, for difference of Commanding Allowance between the sum allowed to a temporary Brigadier & that going with a Corps of the Line, vizt. 120 Rs. per mensem, as Commanding at Neemuch; offers observation; and, in connexion with the above , subits also a bill drawn by Lieutt. Coll. Tait, Commanding the 3rd Irregular Cavalry for a similar Allowance as commanding at Jhelum. the only difference between his case & that of Major Smith being that at Neemuch, there was only 1 corps of the line, whereas at Jhelum, there were 2, and consequently, should be of opinion that para 24 of section X must be applied to officers attached to Local or Irregular Corps.
