With reference to a letter of the 18th October last, relative to the purchase of Horses at Peshawar & to the Alliged in feriarity of those bred at the Govt. Studs. state that the Majority of the Board in letter no. 255 of the 23rd October last, brought to notice the advantage of supplying nothern Horses for Lieutt. Field Battery purposes to all Batteries above Meerut & of Native Infantry Wales Horses for Artillery purposes between Calcutta & Meerut. that it appears to them to be clearly for the enterest of the staste that the present stud Establishment should be gradnally abolished or discontinued beginning with central stud at Ghazeepore.
