With reference to a lr. of the 28th Oct last, trnasmits copies of reports from such of the officers commanding corps or Detachments as could furnish the information called for on the question whether the recruits to whome beer was experimentally issued in sept. 1839 have proved to be better conducted men than those who had previously joined their corps in the upper Province.
