Action to be taken in consequence of the S/SOS ruling that section 240 (3) of the G/I Act, 1935, requires that an officer should be given an opportunity of showing case against dismissal, removal or reduction, and that this requirement is not complied with by giving him an opportunity to defend himself at an enquiry under rule 55 of the Civil Services (C. C. & A.) Rules into the charges against him.
