In reply to Public letter No. 113 of 1859 dt. 28th Oct. approves instructions given to Govt. N. W. Provs. on the subject of the liability of the Govt. for compensation for property destroyed by the Military authorities in the year 1857 in the Kydgunge quarter of the town of Allahabad Mr. F. Thompson the late Offg. Magte. of Allahabad has been called upon for an explanation of his Conduct.
