Forwards the accompanying copy of a letter No.598, dated the 21st September last, from the Secretary to the Board of Revenue, North-Western Provinces, in which they represent the necessity which,in consequence of the establishment of a High Court in those Provinces, has arisen for the appointment of a duly qualified official for the conduct of such legal proceedings as, in the interest of Government, may have to be brought before the High Court.Recommends that Government be permitted to appoint, in addition to the Government Vakeel,a qualified person to act as Standing Counsel to the Government and its Officers, and as its Advocate in the High Court under the designation of Advocate General,and on a salary of Rupees 1,500 per mensem.
