Letter from Mr. J. Duncan, Resident at Benares, enclosing extracts from his procedings, reporting at length on the state of the customs in force at Benares, Mirzapore, Ghazipore and Jaunpore and on the steps taken by him to introduce to abolish all former duties hitherto realised from the sannyasi and foreign merchants at Benares and Mirzapore, and furnishing the Board with fresh materials to form further regulations on the customs tariff of the province, based on his and Mr. Barlow`s reports.
