From Tanjore Commissioners - Report that Mr. G. Tod proceeded to England on the Grenville 27th January - Request to be furnished with copies of that Gentlemans applications & the leave granted to him by the Supreme Government to enable them to report to the Commissioners in England the date of the vacancy - The Senior Commissioner recommends that Mr. F. W. Russell be now advanced from 3rd to that of 2nd Commissioner. State that they are still incumbered with the duties of Commissioners for Adjudicating the amount due on claims for arrears of pay withdrawn from the Carnatic Fund.
