From Officiating Secretary Asiatic Society-- With reference to letter from the Department dated 26th December 1839, offers the acknowledgements of the Society for the liberal patronage of the Court of Directors towards keeping up its Museum explains why the Society has not drawn the allowance of 200 Rs. a month granted by Gaovernment and requests that orders be issued for the payment to Dr. Thomsen of the curaters salary of 250 Rs. per month and 50 Rs. for preparing specimens.
