The Secretary - With reference to Hence letter No. 1499 of 31st Ultimo forwards with remarks W. I.G. campbells memorial complaining of supersession in the service with the remark that in every suchy cuse the Lieut. Governor satisfied himself that the candedate actually selected was better fitted for the office than Mr. Campbell & altho notk unfitted for the ordinary routine duties of such officer as those regarding which be has been disappointed yet Mfr. Campbell is not well qualified for the higher & more entellectual requesites for the offices in question besides having some weakness of Character which would defunct from his weight & usefulness at the head of important departments.
