From Agent Hill Tracts of Orissa - With reference to letter dated 24th June last reports that 3 out of the 5 Prisoners, who died while undergoing the sentence of impreismment with hard labour in Irons were treated by the European Medical Officer at Russellcoudab, the other 2 died at Soorabah, where altho no European Medial attendance was afforded them, they neverthaless were supplied with European Medicines, & all were otherwise care for but all classes of Hill people solourning in the law country, invariably suffer from Dysentry or Drarrhaa which proves as injurious on its effects on the Hill Tribes as the fover & malarie of the Hills to the lone country peoople while above the ghants besides which there necessary was a charge on their made of life in fond.
