Read a Despatch from the Honble Court of Despatch No. 76 of 1857 dated 3rd June replying to her No. 117 of 1857 relative to Mr.Greansngh`s geological Map of India & stating that the Council of the Geological society of London to whom the report of the officer cancelled on he Map was forwarded for opinions cancur generally with the committee of the asiatie society of bengal that the Map should remain unaltered as a memorial of the state of Geolsgical knowledge at the time of its publication & that any Geological Map of india intended to show more recent & extended unestigation should be commanced de Noos the court add that they do not doubt that in examin with Mr. Aldham Government will be able to feame a seheme by which the vanious suggestions of the Goslogical society of Landon for correspondence messrs of India will be carried out.
