Extract Public Work Department - With reference to an enquiry made by the Government of Bombay in connexion with the construction of a New Post Office at Kalapore which was undertaken on the authority of a letter from the Director General Post Office as to how far this Offices requisition are in future tobe regarded as authority independent of the local Governmen. States that it is a general principal laid down in the Public Works Department that the Chief Engineer is not called on to do any thing except thro his own Government.
