To Governor - In reply to the foregoing Calls attention to the orders of the Bengal Government dated 15th March 1851 directing his predxessor to discontinue the system of forming out the Public Markets at Singapore states that the G. G. in C. approves of his present proposals in as far as they are in the spirit of those orders byt requests he will explain why that orders have been disregarded up to the present time adds that Government having created the Markets in Q. has a right to any substantial balance remaining from the ruts for general purposes after providing for the Comfort health etc of those chrietty on inderectly availing themselves of the Markets.
