To Secretary Asiatic Society - Acknowledge the foregoing letters and remarks in reply on the position that Mr. Piddington ocoufied in respect of the asiatic society and expresses regret that Mr. :Piddington should have returned the letter he had addressed to him and that instead of acting upon the proper and acasmable request conveyed therein he should have entered into an irrclevant discussion as to his past position in relation to the society and that in terms of which the society have very justly complained states that a copy of this letter will be communicated to Mr. Piddington their the Supert. of the Geological Survey and asks for the decision of the Society should allow its own Geological Collections to be deposited in the Government Mussum.
