With reference to the Foreign office letter No. 1700P, dated 20th September, forwards copy of a communication from Her Britannic Majesty's Charged Affaires at Pekin, submitting his views on the subject of extending the trade of British India with Thibet. Invited suggestions in the matter, and awaits an account of any action that Colonel Haughton may have been able to take on receipt of the Foreign office letter above referred to.
