Represents that at present a large number of Government servants and others belonging to the Roman Catholic persuasion are located at Simla, and that the want of a resident minister of their faith is severely felt; that on all occasions when the Governor General and Commander-in-Chief come up to Simla, a large number of public offices come with them, many of the subordinates belonging to which are of the Roman Catholic Church, and that when these are added to the resident of the station and others whose health bring them to the sanatarium, they form a not inconsiderable number.
