Payment of departmental overtime to supervisory staff in workshops. Instructions issued to Railways remove the restriction imposed on payment of overtime for not more than 2 hours on a working day to supervisory staff i n workshops etc. Reply sent to two Federations. It was held that Railways had discretionary powers to frame rules for payment of overtime under Rule 505-RI to Chargemen etc in Workshops and sheds the practice varied considerably in regard to method of payment of O.T. to such staff and it could not be desirable to take up the issue raised
