Northeast Frontier Railway. Question whether the offer made by workers in the Dibrugarh workshops to work extra hours on Saturdays and to contribute the wages for that extra work to the 'Jawans WelfareFund should be accepted. It was clarified that the overtime working had to be according to the needs of the Administration. There would be no objection to such of staff as were called out to work overtime in the administrative interest to donate their overtime allowance to the National Defence Fund. If on the other hand the suggestion was that the working hours were to be increased in order to increase production, the offer should to be entire shop staff rather than some volunteers
