Simplification of Rules and procedures relating to Leave Rules- Chapter V of R.I., 1985 edition- On the basis of the decisions arrived at in the J.C.M/ National Council- Regarding. Decision 1. Leave not due may be taken only on production of medical certificate(Rule 528), Maternity leave available only for less than two surviving children, Leave in continuation thereof upto one year may be taken without production of medical certificate. w.e.f. 1-1-89 vide S.No. 11 on 27-1-89. 2. New procedure for crediting LAP introduced 240-15 days w.e.f 1-1-90 vide S.No. 33 on 9-2-90. 3. Maternity leave my be granted irrespective of number of surviving children in case of miscarriage/abortion Rule amended w.e.f 1-1-89 vide S. No. 37 on 1-2-91. 4. LAP that may be taken at a stretch extended from 120 days to 180 days w.e.f. 2-5-91 vide S. No. 45 on 16-3-92
