Board's meeting with the Chairman of the Railway Service Commissions at New Delhi on 7-11-62. Points discussed: 1. Reduction of time for dictation test 16 Stenographers. 2. Issue of passes for candidates summoned for stenographers' test. 3. Reduction of qualifying marks in English to 35% to adopt uniformity. 4. Submission of monthly progress report on a more realistic basis. 5. Increase in the tenure of staff drawn from Railways in the Commissions from 3 to 5 years. 6. Abolition of grouping system for popular categories and free choice to candidates to apply for any or all categories as well as for any or all Regions / Divions. 7. Expeditious recruitment of operational categories. 8. Cutting down grace period of 2 weeks allowed for Deptmental candidates. 9. Currency of panels beyond one year. 10. Utilisation of services of Jr. Administrative officers by RSCs when posting of members have been delayed. 11. Yardstick to determine the strength of staff in RSCs. 12. Release to Employment Notices on a fixed day - first Sunday of every month - No instructions issued. 13. Exchange of reserve lists in Technical categories between Allahabad reserve lists to the latter group
