With refrence to Military Department letter no 599 of the 26th september last, regarding the difficulties experiencedf in the way of giving isntruction in gun Drill ot Infantry , soldiers, at lahore, fromt he want of Guns, sponges, and other articles, state that provision having been made for the isntruction of Preseve Companies, of the lahore, division of artillery independent of the Guns, of Light Field Batteries the majority of the Board are in opnion that arrangements can now be effected for instruction can now be number of Infantry soldiers, in Communication with the officer Commanding artillery Division without materially, interfering with the Drill or Efficiency of the Reserve Companies, as set forth Coneive, that the difficulties at present experienced at lahore, are now partly, Got, over by the issued of separte guns for the Reserve companies, and that best method, of meeting the remaining difficulty is to have the instruction of the Infantry.
