States that in jan. 1848 on destach of the 41th N I of the strenght of cos proceed from as a guard over a named secy. then a pension in the jail at the latter place that the officers succioly in charge of the detahcmenet which were relived with have claimed extra batta certified that the men do not keep up carriage solicits order as to whether the claim be admitted as a spcial case with reference to the proceed guard in the 1st pata of this letter ot register on the grounds set ofr th in the observation.
