Forwarding extract para 3 to 6 of amily letter from the court of Drs no 46 of 30th May 1849 declining to sanction the alterations of dress proposed by the Madras Government with the execption of the uniform of non commissioned staff attached to native corps and to deparments which is to be assimilated is that of serjts. of arty. and Euro infantry or to makr any increase to amount of off reckowings or to fit an annual sum for off recknowings for the half share and desiring to be furnished with a statement of the alternations that may have been made during the last 3 years in the uniform of the Euro officers at the 3 Presidencies in all branches of the service which is to be furnished direct to the Court.
