In reply to their letter no 6358 of the 21st ultimo.-Submit an original letter from the superintending engineer central provinces reporting that an attemps was made by dismissed chowkidars, formerly in charge of the shatched barracks at Ghageepore to set fire to them but that owing to the origilance and lecisue conduct of the chowkeesdars at present employed the incendiarees were failed in their attempt, and made over to the coal authorities by whom they have been sanctioned to 4 years labor on the roads, conduct of the chowkeedars of present attached to these barracks.
