With advertance to asstt. secy.captn. Alkinson lr. no.207 of 31st Dec.last, regarding the number of officers at some to be withdrawn from corps for staff on detached employement informs, that the commander in chief is of opinion that it is no longer possible to limit the number of absentees to five per regt.without doing away entricly with the power to select on accts of fitness for the both iexpedient & detrimental.
