To Secretary - In reply to letter dated 13th November last with enclosures states that after giving full consideration to the arguments contained in the Lieut Governers Minute the Governer General in Council remains of opinion that His Honors habitual residence in the Halls during the Hot Season cannot be justified on any ground which would not equally apply to the heads of the other Local Governments or to the Governer General and in explaining in what respect the interest of Government would be affected thereby informs that the subject will be referred for the consideration of the Honble Court of Directors whose decision will be communicated to him hereafter.
