Secretary - In continuation of his letter dated 22nd September last and with special reference to the 7th paras thereof submits further observations on the direction of the Iron smelting experiments in Kumaon together with Copies of reports on the subject. Requests that the consent of the Managing Director E.I. Railway may be obtained to the retention during the cold season of the services of Mr. Sowerby with a view to a through exploration of all the Bhabur iron fields and submits the question of the remuneration to be given to that gentleman.
