Proposal for the amendment of section 500 of the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, 1957 by adding a clause that for the purpose of section 6 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1957 the Central Government Shall be the competent authority to grant sanction for the Prosecution of Councillors and Alderman, and to bring the Act in conformity with the provision of section 16(1)(b) of the Bombay Municipal Corporation Act which disqualifies a person from being a Councillor if he has been sentenced to imprisonment for an offence involving moral turpitude and punishable with imprisonment for a term exceeduing six months
