Shri S. Raghavendrachar, TXR, S. Rly. filed Writ Petition No. 531 of 1961 in Mysore High Court against the orders of his reversion from higher officiating appointment to lower substantive post for inadequate service. The petitioner was reverted to higher postings, thus the Mysore High Court annulled the reversion decision since it amounted to imposing the penalty of rank reduction.- Consider whether the Supreme Court should hear an appeal. The Ministry of Law and the Solicitor General will decide in consultation whether to submit a special Lower position at the Supreme Court. This was done, and the Rly was successful in winning the lawsuit
