Southern Railway Grant of Advance of pay on the eve of important festivals Question whether in view of the introduction of the Authorised Scales of pay, recoveries of the advance given to staff should be spread over for more than four monthly installments. Decision that in the case of railway servants coming under the Railway Services(Authorised scale of Pay) Rules 1960, the pay limit should not exceed Rs. 375/-p.m for purposes of festival advance. In the case of staff in pre-prescribed scales, the limit of Rs.300/-p.m would continue to apply. Other conditions laid down for grant of festival advances remain unaltered. Decision that the Republic Day and Independence Day should also be treated as festival occassion for purpose of grant of festival advance to non-gazetted railway servants
