To Secretary - Forwards for order a letter from the Secretary Asiatic Society , with request that the practice which has hitherto obtained of the Societys Corresponding indiscriminately with both the Governments of India and Bengal should be discontinued . A communication from Mr. Piddington to this Government in 1846 together with the reply which was made to him is also forwarded .
