Superintendent Geological Survey - Acknowledge letter of the 23rd Instant commtg. the desire of the Government to continue his services for a further period of 5 years from the 5th March at the advanced rate of 1100Rs. per month intimates his acceptance of the proposal but requests that the question of his salary may be reconsidered. Explains why he has not been able to send regular reports of progress and why contrary to his advice the Survy has not buttert been carried or upon an uniform plan and the divadoantages under which the survey Department labours for want of a Mussum of Geology and Library of reference.
