P.N.M. Discussion in March 1964 with A.I.R.F. Regarding Overtime to office staff on Railways. 1. Federation informed that there was no justification for giving overtime to the staff working in Railway Offices on the lines of what is admissible to the staff in the Secretariat offices as the staff on the Railways were all governed by the Hours of Employment Regulations. 2. As agreed by the Board, instructions were issued to Railway that their earlier instructions in item 21 (iv) of the subsidiary instructions that overtime work should be restored sparingly and work as far as possible be managed within the normal working hours. However, the Board should have no objection to work of occasional nature, due to temporary seasonal pressure or otherwise being managed, in exceptional circumstances, by payment of suitable honorarium, under normal rules, in consultation with the F.A. & C.A.O
